1) What is the maximum amount I can spend on a Clothes Rail payment plan?
As a new customer, the maximum amount you would be allowed to spend on a Clothes Rail payment plan is £60.00. Once you become an established customer, having had an account of up to £60.00 and completed your payments on time, your credit limit may be increased to £100.00. Providing you continue to pay your bill according to your contract, your credit limit may be increased further, to a maximum of £200.00.

 

2) How much are the re-payments & how often do I have to pay?
Clothes Rail credit operates on a pay weekly basis. Your minimum weekly repayments will depend upon how much credit you take out with Clothes Rail. You will be required to pay 10% of your total balance (at the date of your last purchase) each week.

3) How do I make my re-payments?
Clothes Rail offers both home collected and standing order repayment options. The map below indicates where Clothes Rail can offer home collected credit (within the black circle). If your minimum weekly repayments are less than £6.00, however, you may be asked to pay by standing order even if you live within the designated home collected credit area. If you live outside of this area but within West Yorkshire, you should be able to take out a Clothes Rail payment plan but only on a standing order basis. When you take out the credit agreement contract, you will be asked to specify a day/evening when you would like Clothes Rail to collect your re-payments from your home by cash/cheque, or for your repayments to be taken out of your bank account by standing order.

4) Can anyone take out a payment plan with Clothes Rail?
So long as you are over the age of 18 and live within the West Yorkshire area, you should be able to take out a Clothes Rail payment plan. All customers are required to complete an application form and provide at least two forms of identification (one photographic). A credit check may be carried out, and Clothes Rail reserves the right to refuse credit at their discretion. Credit is non-transferrable hence customers are not allowed to take out credit on anyone else’s behalf. Clothes Rail will only accept one new customer per household.

 

5) How will I receive the garment that I wish to purchase on a Clothes Rail payment plan, and will I receive it immediately?
Yes you will receive the garment you wish to purchase on a Clothes Rail payment plan immediately, so long as you have completed your application form and you have at least two forms of identification (one photographic). Simply contact us and Clothes Rail will visit your home at an agreed day and time to complete the credit agreement contract with you.

 

6) What happens if I want to return the item I bought on credit?
After completing the credit agreement contract, you have an automatic 14 day right to withdraw. You can cancel the contract at any time during this 14 day period either orally or in writing (letter, email, text). You can find details of where to send your cancellation notice to on our contact us page. Upon receipt of your cancellation notice, Clothes Rail will contact you to arrange collection of your item, or you can send the item back to the address given on our contact us page. Any monies paid will be fully refunded. Customers are under a statutory duty to retain possession of the goods during the cancellation period and to take reasonable care of them. You, the customer, are also under a statutory duty to return the items undamaged.

 

7) What happens if I miss a payment?
To avoid the issuing of a Notice of Arrears, you should contact Clothes Rail if you miss a payment and we will rearrange an alternative collection time. When you open your account with Clothes Rail, it will be fully explained to you that missing 4 weekly repayments will lead to the issuing of a Notice of Arrears. If you do not pay the arrears or contact Clothes Rail to explain your financial circumstances within two weeks of receiving the Notice of Arrears, Clothes Rail will send a Second & Subsequent Notice of Arrears. Failure to pay the arrears may lead to the use of a Debt Collection Agency or the issuing of a Default Notice and possible court action with associated costs. Clothes Rail reserves the right to charge default interest at a rate of 10% per Annum, and to charge £1.00 per letter issued in relation to missed payments (this charge does not apply to Notices of Arrears). Missing payments may lead to customers having a bad credit rating for 6 years. Clothes Rail would much prefer customers experiencing payment problems to inform them of their difficulties, and Clothes Rail will endeavour to work with the customer to rearrange their payment schedule.

 

8) How do I find out whether Clothes Rail offers the payment plan scheme in my area?
Clothes Rail’s payment plan scheme is available in most areas of West Yorkshire. Clothes Rail offers both home collected and standing order repayment options. The map below gives you a guide of where Clothes Rail offers home collected credit (within the black circle). If your minimum weekly repayments are less than £6.00, however, you may be asked to pay by standing order even if you live within the designated home collected credit area. If you live outside of this area but within West Yorkshire, you should be able to take out a Clothes Rail payment plan but only on a standing order basis. Simply contact us by email or phone (01274 404150 / 07984 423942) to let us know where you live, and we will tell you whether you will be able to take advantage of our payment plan scheme.

 

9) I am having a Clothes Party. Will my guests be able to buy items on credit?
Yes. Clothes Party guests can purchase items on credit so long as they are over the age of 18 and live within the West Yorkshire area. At least two forms of identification (one photographic) will be required from each guest wishing to purchase items on credit (see question 4). All terms and conditions discussed in questions 1 – 9 apply to new customers at Clothes Parties.
